Solar System; The Seat of Consciousness

Modern day physicists are exploring the great and the small realms in the universal manifold that the ancients referred to by the axiom “As above, so below.” Yet most are ignoring the mechanical attributes of the Solar System in regards to planetary cycles and their effects on human life on Earth. Astrology is an ancient discipline mostly ignored by science. Fortunately, the everyday citizen has a grasp of astrology’s relevance, not only for a better perspective on future events but for an understanding of their life-potentials as shown in their birth charts. An increasing number of individuals are leaving behind the over-simplified newspaper astrological fortune-telling, and have gone beyond where scientists have left off.

There are modern scientific theories that have given credence to an all-pervading intelligence in the universe. Some find it in what they call the morphogenetic field, others find a source of life and intelligence in oscillating water molecules and their geometric patterning, as well as other theories that pervade the scientific world. But unfortunately, most theories do not take into account the rhythm of vibratory rates created by the rotation of the planets on their axes, in combination with their orbital cycles of the Sun that define numerical tones. The source of the universe, consciousness, and life, will always remain a mystery to humankind, but to quote the notable physicist Richard Feynman, “It does no harm to the mystery to know a little bit about it.”

The Sun lightens and enlightens by the power of electrical fire, and by its magnetic properties, pulls the planets along with it, through the galaxy in a spiraling path, heading in an unknown direction, ever-spiraling forward, gathering more stories to record and play, in the theater of life. The mastermind of creation keeps its methods and purpose hidden from the eyes of the profane, and even for the initiate, whose heart is open, the answers are ever-elusive from their grasp.

But the planets give away some clues to the conundrum, by the cyclic nature of their geometric patterns as they weave in and out of synergistic fields in perpetual motion. Our emotions are the receptacle of this energy-intelligence and are essential for conducting the messages from these forces down into the fiber of our physical being.  The hierarchy of the planets is associated with attributes of character.

The signs of the year (zodiac) are the backdrop of meaning to our lives, as we reflect their archetypal natures in our own being. They are a stimulus yet not the cause, of how we interpret universal law through the sieve of personal conscience. Each of us is born into a culture that molds and programs our perception of life and holds us back unless we hunger for wholeness and enlightenment. The outer planets in aspect with natal configurations mark breakthroughs of divine intervention to guide us toward a life worth living.

From the Sabian Symbols in Astrology by Marc Edmund Jones:

LEO 7 The constellations in the sky This is a symbol of the infinite regression in all universal reality, not as a fact of some unreachable end in knowledge but rather as a demonstration that any abandonment of the known for the sake of the unknown is fruitless. The cosmos is illimitable in the sense that man’s questing may ramify in time and space to the extent of any given pertinence, but his assurance lies within his own being and experience. The stars are his confirmation, never his explanation. The keyword is SURETY. When positive, the degree is consistent effectiveness in understanding and self-ordering, and when negative, a loss of all present integrity through an unnecessary retreat to the remote or mysterious.

SOLAR ECLIPSE AUGUST 21, 2017

A solar eclipse is a Super-New Moon. It is a time to “plant seeds” for significant change in the daily pattern of our lives. Light is not the only influence the Sun and Moon have on living things. All heavenly bodies exude an electromagnetic field, which has its influence on other heavenly spheres and life in general. These invisible energies are activated in mysterious ways through interactions of the planets, the Sun and Moon, asteroids and other significant points represented symbolically in astrological charts.

Eclipses are strongest when near or opposite a planet in the horoscope. All other influences are general and are associated with the meaning of the houses where the eclipse falls.
An eclipse can indicate the end and rebirth of behavioral patterns hidden deep within the psyche. When drawing the substance of the unconscious into the sphere of the conscious mind, through meditation or breathwork, a natural catharsis can take place that clears outmoded content. Through courageous observation of personal issues, the need for transformation can be fulfilled. The theme of the crises to be cleared is determined by which houses the solar and lunar eclipses fall in your personal horoscope.

It is not an accident that the Sun and Moon are at the distances where when they are in line with the Earth that the diameter of their disks are the same size. This strategic alignment produces a powerful thrust of energy toward the Earth that motivates a comprehensive evolution of all matter. A solar eclipse occurs twice a year, along with a lunar eclipse either before or after. These are one of the most profound astronomical and astrological events that influence our lives, although there are many other significant celestial occurrences that promote great change.

The shadow of the moon travels the surface of the Earth and marks the countries and the people designated for reorientation. The current eclipse in the astrological sign of Leo represents the heart center and effects the way that we as individuals interact with others and where we express ourselves as unique beings separate from the collective. It is a time to acknowledge the shadows within that await the light of conscious day to be resolved through Love, as one of the features of spiritual enlightenment ruled by the sign Leo.

LEO 29 A mermaid This is a symbol of humanity’s insatiable appetite for experience on the side of psychological self-assurance, and of the nascent eagerness of the soul for a private and personal participation in every possible facet of self-fulfillment. There is an ineradicable purity of man’s make-up at core, and in consequence an ultimate repudiation of all the compromises which seem to be demanded in everyday relationships. The individual forever seeks and responds to the creative needs of life itself. The keyword is IMPORTUNITY. When positive, the degree is a completeness of quickening to inner instincts of the being and a real willingness to trust them, and when negative, a lack of discrimination and an awkward insensitivity.

Planetary Aspects, the Electrical Connections of Intelligence

Ancient civilizations observed the night skies with awe and wonder on a nightly basis. They had no distractions from the starry vault by televisions, cell phones, computers and other digital devises, and so they dedicated their time to a comprehensive understanding of the movements of the stars, planets and other heavenly phenomena. Observatories were common in their cultural centers, and remnants of them remain as a source of their highly sophisticated celestial calculations.

El Caracol, the crumbling observatory tower at Chichen’ Itza’ in Mexico, reaches far above the Yucatan jungle and was the means by which ancient Maya astronomers viewed the 360 degrees of the sky to track solstices, equinoxes and eclipses, and specifically the orbit of Venus. They recorded their findings in books, although most were destroyed during the European conquest in the first millennia. One of the remaining three Maya texts, called codices, tells of the 26,000 year cycle using the long-count calendar. There is no doubt that sky observation dominated the minds of the Maya during their classical period.

The priests and noble classes of past cultures used astronomical activity as a means of dominance over the lives of the masses they ruled. The predictable synchronicity between activities on Earth as they correspond to celestial conditions and planetary cycles, gave the astronomer/astrologer priests knowledge of coming events. This information was used to prove to their subjects the powers they held in the scheme of daily life. They assigned the planets godlike attributes based on their longtime observations of its effects on nature and humanity. Since astrology developed over a vast period of time, it became known as an empirical science.

The astrological tool used to determine the connection between celestial bodies in the solar system and their potential to effect human experience is called an ASPECT. Astrological aspects are defined by the mathematical separations of the positions of the 10 planets (Sun and Moon included) as they interrelate with each other in their cyclical orbits. The planets are viewed from a geodesic perspective because our experience is earth-centered. The 5 primary geometric aspect relationships are called MAJOR ASPECTS. They are a division of their orbits in terms of the Conjunction at 0 degrees separation, the Sextile at 60 degrees, the Square at 90, the Trine at 120 and the Opposition at 180 degrees apart in the “circle of the signs of the year” (also known as the zodiacal signs defined by the backdrop of the constellations in the belt of the ecliptic).

There is a 10 degree allowance of orb with the planets, 12.5 with the Moon and a 17 degree allowance for the Sun. A Sextile for example, can also be active when planets are up to 70 degrees of separation. There are also a myriad of MINOR ASPECTS that become pertinent when a chart reading suggests an examination of the more subtle personal capacities.

The chart shown here is that of physicist Wal Thornhill, one of the founders of the Thunderbolts Project, a popular movement represented on their YouTube channel. Lines are drawn in the chart to show connections between planets in major aspect. Defined by the division of the circle by numbers, they signify the dynamic connections of charged energy-fields latent between the masses of individual planets. These geometric relationships describe the unique characteristics of the individual or group entity that the chart represents. It is not numbers or math that endow the planets with power to influence our lives, it is the electrical activity between the planets that empowers them. And in turn, they guide our experiences through their connection with our horoscopic profile potentials. The planetary forces exert their objectives through temporary Transits and developmental Progressions calculated from an astronomical ephemeris.

In Symbols of an Alien Sky, at 52:10 of the YouTube video, Wal Thornhill states:

“In an electric solar system, if two planets or moons approach each other from regions of different potential, an electric discharge will occur, producing plasma formations stretching between the approaching bodies.”

At 34:32 in the YouTube Video, An Electric Cosmology for the 21st Century, Wal Thornhill states:

“The Solar System has currents flowing through it, and there’s currents flowing between planets at certain times. In this case Venus . . . ” See diagram below showing Venus in an inferior Conjunction alignment with the Sun and Earth. There is a visual energy trail from Venus, caused by the Sun. This effect was photographed by the SOHO spacecraft.

Innate within these plasma formations is the intelligence that is the spark of life and consciousness. Circled in green are two planets in Thornhill’s horoscope that were in extremely close contact at the hour of his birth. Although Thornhill’s exact time of birth is not known to this astrologer, there is no doubt that the relatively slow orbiting planets, Saturn and Uranus, were making this very tight Conjunction aspect on May 2, 1942. This is an extraordinary connection between these two planets as they are within 3 minutes of exact Conjunction. It is also in a special zodiacal position in the heavens known as the Pleiades*; a group of stars also known as the Weeping Sisters or the Seven Sisters. This group of stars is known to be in one of the nearest constellations to Earth, and many cults from ancient times to the present, have developed a belief in its profound and sometimes ominous effects on humankind.

On the other hand, the star group is believed to bring great wisdom and knowledge to anyone born under its influence, and is also believed to be the source of knowledge channeled from several “non-corporal” entities. Regardless of myths and cults associated with 29 degrees Taurus, the Conjunction aspect in Thornhill’s chart endows him with a potential for deep wisdom as a Saturnian effect, coupled with Uranian higher conscious brilliance.

Often these two planets are seen to be diametrically opposed in their characteristic effects. Saturn’s act on conscience has been observed to promote sensitivity to conservative moral compliance and respect for authority; be it to parent, teacher, boss i.e. cultural pressures. The planet’s Transits and Progressions give opportunities for the native to conform to accepted social mores. If guilt is felt for wrong doing, a subsequent period of regret and repentance is in order to assuage conscience. It is the opposite in regards to the trailblazer Uranus. Known as the Promethean impulse, it has the capacity to break free of the common restraints and boundaries Saturn puts forth. It lays new grounds and feels justified and responsible for charting new concepts and paradigms.

In Thornhill’s chart, these two energies, the one more concrete and the other etheric, seem to work well together in maturity, once the preliminary choice of life-path had been made.  What might have been continuing internal ambivalence if not disciplined, now has become Saturn’s steadying focus on the iconoclastic counter-approach Thornhill has developed. His challenge to generations of scientists bogged down in outdated cosmologies helps promote his hypothesis of the more realistic Electric Universe.

The birthright and potentials of the Saturn/Uranus Conjunction includes a generation of individuals born during the same year as Thornhill. The slow moving duo lasted throughout the entire year of 1942 and beyond. But what makes this Conjunction so significant for Thornhill is its exactitude and relationship with several other supporting planets at the time.

It is beyond the scope of this post to give an in-depth analysis of the chart shown here, but Keywords offer a keyhole view into meaning and interpretation:

The Saturn/Uranus Conjunction potential is further understood through an examination of their keyword definitions. Saturn’s keyword is Sensitiveness and Uranus has the keyword Independence. Thornhill broke away from established academia because of an overriding Sensitiveness and dedication to the facts he was able to uncover for his pioneering self. Uranus’ keyword when it is prominent in a horoscope takes on a different and more fascinating keyword definition; Experimentative. Thornhill relies on laboratory experimentation to explain and validate imagery and observations of outer space.

Mercury Conjunct Saturn and Uranus adds its meaning through the keyword Inquisitive  indicative of Thornhill’s probing Mentality (another of Mercury’s keywords). The Sun as well is Conjunct the others in Taurus and creates a Stellium in Sign. The four together amplify the meaning of Taurus, which being an earth sign/element, is representative of the physical properties of the cosmos. The Sun’s keyword is Purpose, and its position is exactly 17 degrees apart from Saturn/Uranus, making a Conjunction with the two at its widest point allowable. A Stellium is a Focal Determinator; a planetary configuration pointing to an important feature of the natal chart. It would be interesting to know the exact placement of the Moon and how it might enter into the chart dynamics, but that is only possible when the exact time of birth is known.

The Green lines pointing from Venus to the triple Conjunction of Mercury, Saturn and Uranus show multiple Sextiles at birth. The Sextile is a derivation of the Triangle which denotes in astrology an ease in connecting with people and receiving their support and assistance. Venus’ benefic effects then add Appreciation to the already stacked potentials for rewarding experience via the multiple Sextiles. The chart’s challenging stresses come from the Opposition of Venus to Neptune shown with a red line between them. However this polarization gives rise to another Focal Determinator of importance. It is Jupiter in a symmetrical Square to both Neptune and Venus. This 90 degree angle to the 180 degree Opposition is shown with the red and purple configuration is called a T-Cross, as it forms the letter T, whether it is on its side or even upside down. The planet that creates the stem of the T is considered a Focal Determinator called Point Focus. This planet becomes the dynamic outlet for the more static Opposition. It stems from and is the point through which the energy/intelligence flows and has its potential release. It becomes a powerful force by being sparked and energized by the electrical charges it receives the planets in the polarizing Opposition. Jupiter, the Point Focus of the T-Cross takes on the keyword Paternal, revealing the protective and nurturing nature of the native. Thornhill wishes to spread the truth of the Electrical Universe, and with the help of Point Focus Jupiter, he does so by “adopting” those underlings he deems worthy of his enlightened message.

Shown by the yellow line is Neptune applying in a 120 wide Trine (triangle) aspect to High Focus Jupiter in the Sabian degree of A barn dance.**  The original symbol of Jupiter being, An old-fashioned harvest home festival is at its height with flashing dancing couples crowding the barn floor.

From the American Federation of Astrologers:
The Babylonians are generally credited with the birth of astrology. Their astrological charts enabled them to predict the recurrence of seasons and certain celestial events. So in the beginning and for more than 2,000 years, astrology and astronomy were the same science.

Babylonian astrology was introduced to the Greeks early in the 4th century B.C. and, through the studies of Plato, Aristotle, and others, astrology came to be highly regarded as a science. It was soon embraced by the Romans (the Roman names for the zodiacal signs are still used today) and the Arabs and later spread throughout the entire world.

While earliest astrology was used to bring a sense of order out of apparent chaos, it was soon utilized to predict weather patterns, primarily for agricultural purposes. It was eventually broadened to include forecasts of natural disasters and war and other events in the course of human affairs. Amassing successes in these fields, it was a natural progression for astrology to be used as counsel for kings and emperors and, in time, for all of us.
*From A Treatise on Cosmic Fire by Alice Bailey

The Pleiades are to the solar system the source of electrical energy and, just as our sun is the embodiment of the heart or love aspect of the Logos . . . . , so the Pleiades are the feminine opposite of Brahma.” (The third aspect. Page 156.)

The repetition of the symbolic harvest time theme in the chart is notable. There is the reference to a harvest dance in Jupiter’s original symbol of 22 degrees Gemini, as well as with Venus’ 27 degree symbol, A harvest Moon.

**GEMINI 22 A barn dance This is a symbol of complete self-fulfillment through the established or normal activities of the community at large, and of a consummation of self by the broadest possible participation in the divisions of labor which constitute a human society. Richness of living comes from an uninhibited sharing of everyday potentialities, together with a maximum of happy give-and-take between any one individual and any other. The keyword is GREGARIOUSNESS. When positive, the degree is an ability to plunge into major and rewarding experiences without the least self-reservation, and when negative, a dependence on superficialities for self-satisfaction and on petty indulgences for self-assurance.

***PISCES 27 A harvest moon This is a symbol of life’s moments of culmination as the threshold of new achievement rather than as any canceling out of experience in the given aspect, and it emphasizes the fact that nature in her immeasurable prodigality is forever showering man with the products of her untiring creativeness. She is saying to him that his productivity is as rich as hers, and that the highly concentrated resources of the world are at the immediate service of anyone who will put them to use and so facilitate their replacement. The keyword is BENEDICTION. When positive, the degree is self-consummation which is successful beyond any possibility of measure, and when negative, loss of self in a welter of opportunity.

Rupert Sheldrake’s Morphogenetic Field Theory as it Relates to Planetary Patterns

temperamentTypes

Planetary Patterns form as planets aggregate in unique groupings while orbiting the Sun. Seen from the Earth’s perspective, these seven recognizable shapes are the matrix for the five major aspects in astrology; the Conjunction, Sextile, Square, Trine and Opposition. The patterns are in constant flux, due to the varying speeds of the planets themselves. The three very slow-moving outer planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, represent the base notes of the solar system so to speak, and they chart the gradual development of evolving life on Earth. They identify the nature of humanity’s group orientations, as they transform from religious and culturally cloistered pockets of activity which Jupiter and Saturn represent, to a broader and more universal and all-inclusive conscious self-awareness. In some respects, they are the unconscious motivating forces at work in humanity’s evolution from darkness to Light. But for the seeker of life’s meaning, they encourage an upward movement from subterranean levels of autonomic behavior to elevated and refined states of conscious being.

The outer planets are the harbingers of consciousness transformation, which then becomes the stable foundation of Universal Mind. In contrast, the swifter moving planets are associated with the more personal attributes of human character, and point to habits of daily living and convenience. The diagram above shows examples of the ideal formations of the seven Planetary Patterns. SS

These seven basic Planetary Patterns represent humanity’s diverse modes of responding to life as a whole. That is why they are also called Temperament Types. They refer to human emotional and behavioral responses to local environmental stimulus, and to the world and universe in general. To identify the way in which an individual is prone to view and respond to outer conditions, one must identify the pattern of the planets in their particular horoscope. This can be challenging at times when the planetary groupings take on a kaleidoscopic imagery as they move out of and into succeeding patterns. The mass of humanity does not wait for an ideal pattern to form in the solar system when they incarnate. But with a bit of analytical work on the chart, the Temperament Type can be identified and used as a tool to decipher potentialities.

The simplest transition from one pattern to another can be seen in regards to the Bowl shape as it morphs into the Bucket pattern. The Moon is the swiftest of the moving bodies in the astrological solar system. It cycles the Signs of the Year (zodiac) once a month, and it plays the role of the Handle of a Bucket pattern when opposite the Bowl segment. It becomes the Bowl Temperament once again when it moves back into the more populated half circle. The challenge in defining this Temperament comes when the Moon as a Handle is not quite perpendicular to the center of the Bowl. Further analysis brings into play the nuances of the Temperament. The chapter on the Temperament Types in The Essentials of Astrological Analysis will assist in understanding the fine details of the seven Types.

How do the planets and their electromagnetic fields relate to the morphogenetic field? The answer to this question is: They relate in every way. It is an ancient concept that energy fields influence organic life on Earth. This topic is now being revisited by Rupert Sheldrake, the controversial biologist who bravely goes where conventional science fears to tread. Sheldrake professes that there is an ethereal and intelligent, unseen unified field that gives rise to visible form. As an astrologer, I would like to point out that it is the Sun, Moon and planetary fields that are the morphogenetic source and matrix itself, and the colorful graph of orbiting planets suggests how those individual fields might overlap and synergize. The field, or plasma, acts as an ever-developing potential; a molecular/chemical “instruction” for life on Earth. Observing life events and experiences, in correspondence to planetary movements in a horoscope, reveals the binding relationship between the two factors.

Our physical bodies resonate to the morphing solar system’s fields. They do so through our central energy system known by the Sanskrit term Chakras. The Chakras are circular and spiraling vortexes that have specific vibratory frequencies that instantaneously, through the ether or plasma, give substance to conscious mind – also known as consciousness or conscious self-awareness. These are the Macro and Micro elements of life in coalescence. All things vibrate with life energy and magnetism. And the human body too, exudes electromagnetic frequencies to take part in the complex play of forces in which we live and have our being.

Since we are discussing Planetary Patterns and how they give substance and nuance to the morphogenetic field, it would be convenient to use the example of Rupert Sheldrake’s chart to identify one of the Temperament Types. Sheldrake’s horoscope is a Bucket pattern that deviates slightly from the ideal or norm. There is the necessary single planet srupert-sheldrakeet off by itself that becomes the High Focus Handle of the chart, but the Bowl segment does not have a Delimiting Rim Opposition to make it ideal. Although Marc Edmund Jones considers the Bucket Temperament Type to include those shapes where the bowl segment has no delimiting Rim, this departure from the ideal has lead to the alternative title Funnel Temperament. This term facilitates a more literal expression of the way in which this Temperament functions without a Rim. The term Funnel was made popular by the Humanistic branch of Astrology during the 1970’s. When there is no Rim Opposition, the contents of the bowl are not stymied on there way to self-expression, and the unencumbered energies are funneled directly to and through the nature of the Handle or Spout planet (see chart #1). This High Focus single planet, with its sign and house placement, is considered the point of release of talents that assists the native in the manifestation of his potentials. Here is where he develops a “handle” on the entirety of his personal gifts and accomplishments, and thus has a focused outlet for his purpose in life.

Sheldrake’s High Focus Moon is in the 2nd house of personal resources and in the sign of Discrimination. The Moon gathers and channels his highly selective discoveries into the domain of his own personal psyche. Then with the facilitating exact Opposition to the Sun in the 8th house of other people’s resources and approval, he manages to share the contents of his otherwise private worldview. And as Oppositions often show, there will be times when his shared knowledge receives approval, contrasted with times of rejection from those who find it hard to comprehend the illusive nature of Sheldrake’s mission and message.

Note that Venus and Neptune, buttress the funnel’s contents with a Trine over the line of the sign. This allows the free-flowing nature of the 120 degree aspect to easily empty its contents RupertShaeldraketoward the High Focus Moon Spout, with its keyword INTENSE. The Core Opposition, shown with red lines, thus becomes more prominent in an interpretation, because of the lack of distracting and challenging co-aspects. The Bucket or Funnel Pattern identifies a person with an profound objective; on a definitive mission to accomplish. And Sheldrake is certainly an example of one with a overwhelming drive to carry his cause to its final destination of public awareness of unseen forces. And he accomplishes his mission, through his revealing demonstrations of the subtle powers of receptivity that the Moon so well represents.

See Sheldrake’s demonstrations at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIozVT-IM14

The Temperament Type Graph below with the red and green lines shows that the Bundle has the possibility of a Trigger Square Focal Determinator and a High Focus Leading planet, shown with the red circle. The See-Saw ideally has both core and rim Oppositions and a High Focus Leading or Cutting planet. The Bowl has the potential for a T-cross Focal Determinator and has a High Focus Leading planet. The hemisphere occupation of planets also determines the degree of the Temperament’s personal development. The Bucket has the potential for both a Grand Cross and Grand Trine, with core and rim Oppositions – its Handle planet becoming Point Focus. The Locomotive has the possibility of a Grand Trine, a core Opposition and High Focus Leading planet. The Splay is based on the Grand Trine, but can have a T-cross and High Focus Reins planet when there is only one planet in one of the three segments. The Splash has the possibility of having all quadratures represented by as many as 5 Oppositions. There can be a Grand Trine, Grand Cross, T-cross, but no Leading planet. For more detailed information on Temperament Types, read The Essentials of Astrological Analysis by Marc Edmund Jones. Chapter 2, page 27.

The Discovery of LSD and its First Explorer Albert Hoffman

** FILE ** In this undated file photo, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann is seen in his garden in Burg, Switzerland. Hofmann, the discoverer of LSD, has died aged 102, officials of the town of Burg, Switzerland, confirmed. (AP Photo/Keystone, Niklaus Stauss) ** NO SALES NO ARCHIVES ONE TIME USE ONLY **

Albert ahoffmanHoffman was the man responsible for the LSD generation in the United States, although he felt that it was a misuse of the drug, and that its primary useful purpose was in the field of psychiatry.

Hoffman accidentally ingested a small amount of the chemical on November 16, 1938 when he was employed by Sandoz laboratory in Switzerland. The green line in the chart shows Hoffman’s Progressed Uranus was making an Opposition aspect to his Natal Neptune at the time. Neptune is associated with the imagination in its normal conscious activity as well as when the imagination is stimulated through the catalyst of a chemical substance such as Lysergic acid diethylamide. The unusual experience that resulted from the accidental dose was similar to the subconscious journeys encountered through natural psychotropic plants found worldwide and used for exploratory purposes by shamans in a diversity of cultures.

hoffman02450LSD was unleashed on the public at large and caused a movement and advancement in consciousness that was to bring new age practices to a world hitherto unprepared. There was a schism produced between the establishment in general and the hippies who were en-mass being enlightened if only superficially.

The red lines show that the Progressed Sun and Venus were just passing over the Moon’s South Node and Opposite the North Node. The blue line shows that Transit Jupiter was also involved in the configuration. Jupiter and Venus being involved in the aspect show that it was a pleasant experience for Hoffman, and that its discovery would bring much reward for him as well as all others in search of a deeper journey into the realm of the human psyche that the Nodes represent.

Nassim Haramein, The Freewheeling Physicist

nassim_harameinThere is controversy over the accuracy of many of the claims and discoveries shared with the audiences that gather to hear Nassim Haramein’s lectures. His lectures are interesting and stimulating because his point of view is unconventional. As far as data gathering goes, I searched the internet but was unable to uncover any indication of Haramein’s birth time. His birthday, month and year as well as location are on his Facebook page. Using that information, I have decided that 12 pm would present a reasonable picture of his astrological potentials, even if it is not as accurate as I would prefer. Many individuals do not know their birth times and yet an astrology chart can be set up for their birth as long as the astrologer remembers to take into account only those facts that would not change when a birth time is known. And using Marc Edmund Jones’ techniques, it is possible to get a fairly valid reading because these techniques transcend the otherwise limited tools of conventional astrology that are so dependent on the houses of a chart.

I call this analysis “Nassim Haramein, The Freewheeling Physicist”, because he is causal in his approach and amiablenassimharamein2 in his demeanor – at least in the videos of his lectures available on YouTube. In my search for Haramein’s birth time, I came across several websites dedicated to debunking his message in the hopes of steering his followers away from his teachings. In their professional, and not so professional opinions, they claim Haramein inaccurately discusses a model of the universe and disregards the real laws of physics.

I think that they are doing a good job of keeping a balance in the name of honesty, but by trying to lessen an interest in Haramein’s ideas, many will miss out on some very interesting dialogue that explains the universe in terms of new meanings for old symbols and even meanings for symbols and geometric structures that haven’t had any meaning put forth for them in the first place. Haramein’s descriptions and animations on the spiraling solar system, also presented by the Electrical Universe – The Thunderbolt Project by David Talbott and Wal Thornhill, is a case in point. This understanding of the spiraling solar system, ever-moving out of previous space and into the new, not only gives astronomy a boost, but the idea of it brings clarification to the field of astrology as well.

I found Haramein’s chart as fascinating as I find his videos on so many topics. And for an analysis of it, I would like to start with the Natural Disposition which is Mutable and people-oriented, if the Fixed Opposition between Saturn and Mars is disregarded because of it being a few degrees beyond allowable orb. This would make him sincerely interested in the general public’s vision of the cosmos as it really is – at least in terms of Haramein’s understanding of it. A Mutable Disposition mentality has a concern for the welfare of others above one’s own. They tend to be the humanitarians in society.

The Temperament Type is a bit tricky because Mars is positioned just beyond the Delimiting Opposition of Jupiter to Uranus. This does put Mars as the leading planet of a Bowl if it were to be taken as one, and that points to the pioneering explorations Haramein has made within his own mind and the cosmos beyond. But there is another option that would not disregard the pioneer spirit and would account for his unique approach and character. That would be the Splay Temperament Type and always indicates an evolved personality and soul, which Haramein seems to fit into rather well. There are the three segments with empty signs between them to call for this typing, however, the Grand Trine is missing that would have brought even more reason to believe in selecting this Type over the Bowl. What is interesting is that the absence of the Grand Trine and the presence of the strong T-Cross gives testimony to the sheer hard work Haramein has put into his discoveries. The Natal Neptune Conjunct Retrograde Venus becomes Point Focus and REALIZATION becomes an important keyword in understanding the native’s joy of the process of research and discovery. The keyword for Scorpio is Creative, and together, the Retrograde Venus and the Neptunian subconscious emphasize Haramein’s impulse to search within for answers to the dominant questions that intrigue him.

Several of the Sabian Symbols are outstanding and literal, and here we see that the Leading Mars is in 18 degrees Leo; A teacher of chemistry. The entire interpretation is worth placing here:

LEO 18 A teacher of chemistry This is a symbol of the human mind’s illimitable power for penetrating into the deeper mysteries of an everyday world, and of the growing ambition of man to gain an effective control over all the processes of nature. Here is high organization of the intellectual faculties, and a special skill in the practical adaptation of scientific principles to commonplace problems. The individual is given a full sense of his creative responsibilities. The keyword is INSTRUCTION. When positive, the degree is exceptional self-confidence and a delight in subjecting all experience to the test of immediate application, and when negative, unintelligent dependence on supposition or rules of the book.

The original Sabian Symbol reads: An instructor in chemistry is conducting an experiment before his class, in the midst of a maze of apparatus.

dec_1962 The ephemeris graph shows three Stationary Retrogrades in Haramein’s life progressions (A fourth, Mercury, goes retrograde in later years). The first of the three we are discussing here is Uranus which retrogrades at the age of 21. This works in tandem to when Transit Saturn is doing its culminating Square to its Natal place before the Saturn Return in another seven years. Coming of age must have been important to Haramein, as these two planetary events occurring near the same time are indicating significant change in the life’s routine. This also leads up to even more significant developments at age 25 when Progressed Pluto turns Retrograde. At age 36, High Focus Leading planet Mars goes Stationary Retrograde. Unfortunately, there is not much information written on the internet that reveals the events in Haramein’s life that correspond to these Progressions, but pointing out these years will provide others who know him with some vital astrological information on the foundational aspects of his life development.

There are other interesting Sabian Symbols to point out and one that is as outstanding as the Mars symbol is the Sun degree at 28 Scorpio: The king of the fairies approaching his domain. This is a symbol of the eternal promise underlying all inner self-realization, since any actual fullness of life is altogether independent of the passing state of affairs in a world of time and space. Implicit in the symbolism is the futility of man’s common reliance on people and things through some mere accident of contact. Outer reality takes the form with which he endows it as he exercises his sovereignty over its various potentials in the creative realms of his own imagination. The keyword is ALLEGIANCE. When positive, the degree is a special competence of inward vision and a consequent outward perspective of high effectiveness, and when negative, capricious self-indulgence.

Mentioned in other Planetary Dynamics posts, under the category of Sabian Symbols, are the few degrees that refer to otherworldly creatures. They are the “elfin” or “fairy” degrees. These confirm that the individuals whose planets are in these placements live by a code of life that differs greatly from those not as fortunate to have them. The “elfin” symbols refer to a subtle vibration allowing the native fewer constraints in everyday living and self-expression. On the other hand, nativities where these symbols play a prominent role, especially when they are the Sun or High Focus planet, show that the life must in some way be dedicated to assisting others in lieu of their own self-fulfillment. Those who bare these symbols in their charts are prone to living and thinking on levels of higher awareness. One might say that they have a more direct line to cosmic information and are the humanitarians of race.

In a YouTube video, Nassim and his wife Amber discuss, along with others, orgasms that can be experienced when giving birth. Amber apparently experienced one and is shown in the video with her face breaking into a blissful state. Haramenin’s Venus degree, which indicates the woman in his life among other things, is: A girl’s face breaking into a smile. View YouTube video for the Amber interview.

The Man on the Moon – Neil Armstrong and Stationary Progressions

Neil_Armstrong_poseNeil Armstrong, an American hero, took us to the Moon and back safely to Earth, following the dream of  JFK as one of his goals of the decade.

Armstrong’s T-cross, formed by natal Moon to Mars, points its focus on Venus, to bring appreciation for the hard work and effort, the astronaut accomplished for the American public, as well as the entire world.

Venus’ Sabian Symbol degree literally states that there is, “some measure of immortal contribution to history” that can manifest through his astrological potentials. The symbol’s keyword is RESPECT. And that is what he received from all who knew him well and all who were touched by his bravery, skill, and determination. He will always be remembered for the concise but profound words he uttered when stepping onto the surface of the Moon; “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

VIRGO 25  A flag at half-mast.  This is a symbol of the inevitable judgment which life must pronounce on itself, and of the sure rewards that stand ready for whatever proves of worth in the course of effort. The highest of everyday values for the common man are created in a public service which has its first compensation in the individual’s self-fulfillment, and its ultimate justification in some measure of immortal contribution to history. Reputation is the subtle coin by which personality creates an enduring wealth for everyone, to be preserved no less in death than life. The keyword is RESPECT. When positive, the degree is achievement in a full transcendence of selfhood, and when negative, superficial self-dramatization.

It is important to point out the planetary features in the Dynamic chart that mirror the significance of landing on the Moon and being the first person to do so. Astrologically the factors of significance are the two planetary stations in Armstrong’s progressions occurring a few years before the Armstrong_ephemerisactual  Lunar mission.  The developmental years of preparation for this momentous event, are part of the mission itself.

Mercury turning Stationary Retrograde shows that in spite of being worthy of celebrity, Armstrong chose to turn inward and retreat to the countryside for a more private family life after the landing and public acclaim. He was, however, a workaholic and didn’t stay on the farm for long. The chart shows his work ethic through a sense of serious responsibility that he had toward the public with a Natal Moon Conjunct Saturn. The Natal Moon Sabian Symbol degree is A flag-bearer. Both his Moon and Venus symbols refer to a flag, and this was literally manifested when he and Buzz Aldrin planted the American flag on the surface of the Moon.

SAGITTARIUS 26 A flag-bearer This is a symbol of the enduring significance which tends to overshadow the more immediate interests or wholly selfish concerns of man, and the emphasis is on the natural supremacy of common ideals over mere individual ambitions. Implicit in the symbolism is the call for a high self-sacrifice, and for the development of such new dimenArmstrongChartsions of experience as will permit the self to realize its transcendental aspirations. Every resource of normal life is commandeered for the greater potentiality. The keyword is NOBILITY. When positive, the degree is spiritual exaltation through some dramatic or vital service to all, and when negative, a resort to empty show or a demand for false credit.

The three Sabian Symbols that are circled in the chart wheel that reveal a profound potential are the Moon, Venus and the Sun. The Sun is in the sign of Leo with the keyword ASSURANCE. It is in a degree of An old sea captain rocking. Here it is apparent that he would enjoy the accomplishments of his daring youth, and passion for adventure, through reminiscing. He was the captain and commander of Apollo 11. It is shown in his Sun degree which always reveals the Purpose of one’s life.

Another indication of his extremely significant contribution is shown with Transit Pluto (outer wheel) one degree and 38 minutes shy of exact Conjunction with the all-important Point Focus Natal Venus in Virgo. Pluto rules all things profound and transcendental. Indeed his accomplishment must have given him tremendous gratification, far beyond what the man showed to the outside world. A love affair of a cosmic order, he fecundated the Moon with his walk on its surface. No longer would the Moon be the virgin that Virgo stands for. The fifth house reveals self-expression without restraint or limit. This is why he could endure so much challenge. Here is where it shows he had the “Right Stuff.”

Buzz

Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin was the astronaut who accompanied Armstrong on the Moon landing. He was the second person in history to walk on the Moon. Here is Aldrin’s horoscope with his Progressions for the year of the Moon Landing. It is telling of the immense influence this event had on his life. Nine months before the launch, Aldrin had an auspicious Progressed Lunation, revealing that there was a definitive leaving of the past behind, to go forward into a new cycle of Vitality (Sun/Moon pair). He was a member of the crew of Apollo 11, and took part in an unprecedented human experience.

Above is the famous photo of Aldrin with Armstrong and the Eagle Lander reflected in the helmet’s visor. What is interesting is that the Sabian Symbol for Aldrin’s Progressed Mars/Mercury Conjunction at 18 degrees Aquarius, is A man unmasked. The reference to headgear is close enough to prove that the symbols are unique and revealing as to when cosmic potentials meet one-on-one with everyday human experience. And in this particular case, it was extraordinary indeed. The symbolBuzzChart goes on to say: “Life becomes a laboratory for an immortal curiosity.” The keyword is ANALYSIS. When positive, the degree is “a considered self-dedication to greater or more wonderful reasons for being.” Certainly, this sums up his awe-inspiring contribution to science and exploration.

An even more exciting testimony to the realistic interpretation of symbols shows up in Aldrin’s Progressed Lunation. At 10 degrees Pisces, Aldrin’s potentials are reflected (no pun intended) in the degree of An aviator in the clouds. In the original symbols it states; “As a tiny fleck of dust in the sky the aviator sails across the horizon in absolute mastery of these higher realms.”
